It is installed in smoke extraction systems and normally kept closed. In case of fire, the smoke detector sends an electric signal (DC 24V) via the control center; the electromagnet inside the actuator is energized to operate, and the valve opens automatically while feeding back an opening electric signal to link and start the smoke exhaust fan inlet/outlet.
The valve can also be manually opened remotely by steel wire rope. For resetting, the valve is closed and reset through a wall-mounted actuator. Standard steel wire rope lengths: 6 m, 9 m and 12 m.
